N.C. Food System Directory
An outcome of the Farm to Fork Statewide Initiative, the online directory was created initially from our F2F database in response to a request from participants that they be able to identify and connect to others doing food system work similar to their own, complementary to their own, or generally in a particular geographic region. While the initial data from F2F established the foundation of the directory, the directory is user-managed, meaning anyone can add and/or edit their own entries, making the directory boundless regarding the number of profiles/contacts.
NC Food NETwork (link opens in new window) is an open-source, searchable directory that was created through extensive volunteer hours of dedicated hi-tech foodies and farm workers. The directory was built on open-source code so it could be used by others seeking to network their local efforts in the same way that North Carolina has seen as beneficial; we have passed this code on to a group in Tennessee that is currently making its own additions to the code and will then similarly pass it forward to other groups. Please search for your own entry, and either edit or add it to facilitate a cohesive and networked North Carolina food movement.
